Jessica Winternheimer - Methodist Women's Hospital Employee of the Quarter

Jessica Winternheimer, a Medical Social Worker for the Neonatal ICU, is the Methodist Women’s Hospital Employee of the Quarter for 1st Quarter 2015. She was honored at a recognition ceremony on December 8. 

Jessica was nominated for the honor by a physician and by another coworker who described Jessica as someone who "may be small in stature, but her presence is larger than life." 

Jessica was praised for her tireless support of families and staff to ensure positive communication and collaboration throughout even the most difficult cases.

One nominator wrote, "Jessica is an excellent social worker and true asset to our NICU. She consistently demonstrates great interpersonal skills and easily establishes rapport with NICU families during a period when they are under tremendous stress. She routinely facilitates keeping the NICU team focused on rounds and advocates for patients and their families."

She was described as "a credible and respected resource" for the NICU and Emergency Department, as well as "a voice for patients in need of treatment or assistance with mental health issues."

As someone who "continually strives to make her practice better," Jessica is recognized as a team member "who truly embodies The Meaning of Care."

The Methodist Women's Hospital Employee of the Quarter award program began in the first quarter of 2013. Award nominations may be submitted by physicians, supervisors, coworkers and staff. Judging is based on how candidates embody the mission and core values of Methodist Women’s Hospital: patient focus, integrity, excellence, learning, compassion, teamwork and respect.

 All employees and staff at MWH are eligible to receive the Employee of the Quarter award. Employee of the Quarter award winners are automatically considered for the Caring Kind Employee of the Year award, as are Methodist Hospital's Employees of the Month.
