Plastic Grocery Bag Drive
Published: Nov. 30, 2015Methodist Women's Hospital Employee Plastic Grocery Bag Drive: Nov. 24 - Dec. 6
Winter is coming, and we can contribute to the warmth of our community and help meet a critical need of the homeless by sharing our plastic grocery bags with the Open Door Mission.
The Open Door Mission teaches their patrons to make sleep mats and blankets from the bags. From 5,000 to 7,000 plastic bags are required for each mat or blanket.
TAU TAU, the Methodist Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society, is placing grocery bag collection boxes at Methodist Women’s Hospital from Nov. 24 to Dec. 6. Look for the Tau Tau boxes.
Collection Box Locations: 192 Dodge Campus
- Northwest entrance from outside Methodist Women's Hospital into the cafeteria.
- South entrance from outside Methodist Women's Hospital by Pathology.
- Northeast entrance from outside into the Medical Office Building (MOB) from employee parking.
Clear out your pantry and cupboards and drop the bags off on your way in to work. Contribute only clean plastic grocery bags with handles — no trash bags, please.
Thank you for your support.
