Melissa Beaty Is February DAISY Award Winner

Melissa Beaty, BSN, RN, from the Methodist Hospital Critical Care unit, was honored at a recognition ceremony on Monday, February 8, as the February DAISY Award winner for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women's Hospital.

She was nominated for the honor by a patient's daughter who described Melissa as "a wonderful caregiver to our dad, who always made sure he was comfortable and well-informed at this rough time. She went above and beyond also in dealing with family issues."

While all of the care received was extraordinary, the daughter said Melissa stood out as "a bright star."

The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates extraordinary skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Nurses can be nominated by anyone, including patients, family members, physicians, supervisors or their peers.
