Methodist's ParentSavvy.com Nationally Recognized for Online Communications
Published: Nov. 18, 2016Methodist's ParentSavvy.com website earned five top awards from Strategic Healthcare Communication's 2016 E-Healthcare Leadership Awards, which recognizes the best web and digital communications from healthcare organizations. Winners were recognized during a special presentation at the 20th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference held November 7-9 in Las Vegas.
The competition drew entries from such health care organizations as Baptist Health, Cleveland Clinic, CMS, Drugs.com, GE Healthcare, Healthgrades, Johns Hopkins, Kaiser Permanente, Lilly for Better Health, Mayo Clinic, Mount Sinai Health System, United Healthcare and Vanderbilt.
Methodist earned awards for its ParentSavvy.com website, a child health and parenting resource offering parenting advice, tips, tools, expert answers to parents' questions and partnerships with local family-focused organizations.
ParentSavvy has become a popular community hub for parents of newborns, toddlers, school-age children, adolescents and teens. More than 1,000 parents visit ParentSavvy.com every day.

The ParentSavvy.com Star Wars Night at the Omaha Storm Chasers, held May 6, 2016, was a sold-out event that raised $4,880 for the Methodist Women's Hospital NICU expansion.
A few measures of the success of the Star Wars event and its online campaign:
- 1,200 entries to the online contest
- 400 new ParentSavvy.com email subscribers
- 2,800 views of the online contest page
- 4,280 views of the Star Wars Night teaser videos
MHS Manager of Interactive Strategy & Production Sue Klein, creator of the ParentSavvy.com website, has presented ParentSavvy at health care conferences at Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins, and most recently at the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD) annual conference.
