Joe Nekola Honored as UNMC Recipient of AACP Preceptor of the Year Award
Published: Jan. 3, 2022Joe Nekola, PharmD, BCPS, a patient care pharmacist at Methodist Women's Hospital, has been named the 2021 University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) recipient of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Preceptor of the Year award.
According to the AACP, its goal through the Preceptor of the Year award "is to provide programming, resources and tools that will enhance the professional development of adjunct/affiliate preceptors who are key members of the educational and patient care team."
His nomination for the award included the following message from the UNMC Office of Experiential Programs:
"Joe, we value the time you spend educating our students at Methodist Women’s Hospital. Students appreciate your open communication with them, your check-ins to ensure they are meeting their goals for the rotation as well as the way you quiz them to help them retain information about your unique patient populations. Your knowledge, engagement and passion for teaching shines through in your interactions with them. We are so grateful they have the opportunity to learn from you!"
