Methodist Health System Physicians Provide Mid-January COVID-19 Update

In a very raw and rather heartbreaking COVID-19 update for the community, four Methodist Health System physicians address current hospital capacity, recent mortality rates, clinic testing positivity rates in children and advice to parents, pregnant women and members of the community on how to stay safe amid this Omicron surge.

Sumit Mukherjee, MD, pulmonologist and critical care physician at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital; Emily Patel, MD, maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Methodist Women’s Hospital; Matthew Gibson, MD, pediatrician with Methodist Physicians Clinic; and Michele Williams, MD, emergency department medical director at Methodist Fremont Health answered questions from the media and provided personal testimonies.
