Bridget Ross Honored With Good Catch Award

The Good Catch Award is designed to recognize staff members committed to patient safety.

This recognition is presented monthly and goes to the department in which the good catch occurred. Nominations for the award are taken from reported variances where a near miss is caught. Those variances are flagged for consideration of this award. A near miss is an incident or event that has occurred and had the potential to cause harm but was caught before it reached the patient.

"Bridget noticed that a patient’s medication that was sent from an outside pharmacy contained the incorrect dose of pain medication. Bridget then took action to inform the pharmacy of this error and received the correct dose of medication to administer to the patient. Bridget is our first agency staff to receive the Good Catch Award! Her attention to detail, event entry and follow-up ensured that safe resident care was provided. Bridget’s actions are a great example of a “Good Catch.” Her excellent patient-centered care is appreciated and celebrated!"
