Ash Wednesday Across Methodist Health System

In conjunction with Ash Wednesday on Feb. 22, chaplains will be available for the imposition of ashes for employees, patients, visitors, providers and volunteers at Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women's Hospital, Methodist Fremont Health, Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and the 825 Building. 

Ashes will be distributed with single-use applicators, and masks must be worn in accordance with each location's masking requirements.

Below is the Ash Wednesday schedule of events across the health system. Click here for a PDF version of the information that is below. 

Methodist Hospital

• Ashes will be distributed in the chapel from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., 3 to 4 p.m. and 8:30 to 9 p.m.
• Chaplains will also be rounding at the hospital and Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center to distribute ashes.
• Please call Spiritual Care Services (ex. 44016) for patient, visitor or staff requests for ashes.

Methodist Women's Hospital

• Ashes will be distributed in the chapel from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3 to 3:45 p.m.
• Chaplains will be rounding at the hospital and the Women's Hospital Medical Office Building to distribute ashes.
• Please call Spiritual Care Services (ex. 44016) for patient, visitor or staff requests for ashes.

Methodist Fremont Health

• Chaplain Mickey will be rounding midmorning in the hospital for anyone who is interested in receiving ashes.
• Please call (402) 332-7719 before 10 a.m. if you have patient, visitor or staff requests.

Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital

• A short prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. in the chapel.
• Ashes will be distributed in the chapel from 10:20 to 10:50 a.m. 
• Fr. Jacob will be rounding the floors and distributing ashes from 1 to 2 p.m.

825 Building

• Ashes will be distributed from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the traveler's office on the main floor.
