Spenser Murphy Is Methodist Hospital's Employee of the Month for July 2023

Spenser Murphy is a medical physicist and certified radiation safety officer in the Radiation Oncology Department. He embodies our core values of integrity, excellence, learning, compassion, teamwork and respect in everything he does. Spenser has been a Methodist employee for over five years.

From his nomination: “Spenser always has patient outcomes at the top of his priority list. He is very integral in ensuring that our patients receive the best care possible. Spenser embodies all of the attributes of our mission and core values in his everyday life, home, work, community and church. He took it upon himself to rewrite patient plans when the other linear accelerator was down to ensure that our patients didn’t miss their treatments. Spenser is absolutely a resource to the Radiation Oncology Department. He is eager to help every single employee, shows up to help lift patients on the treatment table and is prompt to help troubleshoot IT issues – on top of being the radiation safety officer for the health system. Spenser shows up every day with a great attitude and an eagerness to do what needs to be done for the department and patients.”
