Register your middle schooler today for NMC’s health care career camp
Published: Feb. 7, 2024For the second year, Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) is offering middle school students a unique opportunity to learn about health care careers in a summer camp setting.
The camp includes hands-on activities, tours and simulations led by NMC’s knowledgeable faculty, staff and students. Students will learn firsthand about nursing, occupational therapy, surgical technology, phlebotomy, sonography and respiratory therapy.
Students will:
- Go behind the scenes with field trips and interactive sessions at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital
- Test their skills in wound care, basic anatomy, taking vitals, reading X-rays and ultrasound scans, and more
- Experience college courses and talk to instructors about health care professions
- Learn about exciting health care career opportunities
The camp is July 16-18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
Campers should pack a bag lunch daily. NMC will provide snacks in the afternoons.
Drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m., and pickup ends at 3:45 pm.
The cost is $175. A $100 deposit is required at registration. The $75 balance is due by June 28.
