Haley Vanek honored with the SHINE Award for Nursing Assistants

The Shine Award for Nursing Assistants honors these staff members for the special role they play in patient care within the Methodist Health System. Their Supporting Hands assist our nurses In achieving Nursing Excellence and quality patient outcomes.

Haley Vanek, a nursing assistant in Medical Observation at Methodist Hospital, has been honored with the Shine Award. 

From a colleague's nomination:

"Haley is one of the hardest working people I know who provides incredible care to her patients. She is beyond attentive, patient and compassionate. She is consistently going above and beyond to ensure that her patients are well taken care of. I’ve seen her offer words of encouragement and support to a multitude of patients going through difficult times while in the hospital. She is amazingly thorough and can anticipate patient needs while doing everything she can to make sure those needs are met. Methodist and the patients she cares for are very lucky to have Haley! She brings a smile to everyone’s face!"

From a patient:

"Haley is extremely professional, keenly aware of patients’ needs and a good communicator and listener. ... She is prompt, joyful and methodical, and I could see her training others. ... She is an asset to the team and organization."
