New Continuous Improvement Leader Education series cohort forming; all employees welcome
Published: April 1, 2024The Methodist Operational Innovation Team is excited to announce an upcoming Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader Education series. This opportunity is for all health system employees – those with or without direct reports.
The CI Leader Education series focuses on a Lean Management System concept with an emphasis on principles and behaviors required for a culture of continuous improvement. The series’ goal is for participants to gain practical strategies to improve communication, collaboration and problem-solving as a team. Other team benefits include finding ways to save time for frontline staff members so that they can devote more time to caregiving, and increasing employee engagement.
To date, approximately over 100 people across the health system have completed the education series.
More about the series
A CI Leader Education series cohort consists of about 10 people. The series begins with a kickoff meeting focused on familiarizing participants with the course and learning about Emergenetics, a tool that helps individuals explore the ways people prefer to think and behave.
Participants will then attend six biweekly sessions that run 60-75 minutes.
All course facilitators are employed by Methodist, so there is minimal cost to attend. An $89 fee will pay for each participant’s Emergenetics profile, and the book “Becoming the Change” by John Toussaint, MD, is highly recommended (approximate cost is $22).
Specific meeting dates and times will be coordinated after the cohort is formed.
