Heather Hansen is Methodist Women's Hospital's Employee of the Quarter

Administrative coordinator Heather Hansen is the Methodist Women's Hospital Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2024.

She was nominated by two colleagues. One wrote:

"Heather is always the first person willing to lend a hand and works with a positive attitude. She is the first person to have at your side during an emergency situation and follows all of the protocols to get the job done safely and efficiently. Heather is also the first person to advocate for her patients and her coworkers during any circumstance. She thrives in a team environment and shows everyone respect no matter their position. Heather has been a mentor to me ever since I started as a registered nurse 11 years ago. She is knowledgeable and always willing to help a coworker out!"

Another colleague wrote: 

"Heather is an amazing nurse. She is so kindhearted to every person she encounters. She goes out of her way to explain and educate patients, families and new staff members. She is always cognizant of all units in the hospital and divides her attention equally between the units. She is so helpful in the PACU during call cases. I speak for myself and many of my coworkers when I say that we are all so happy to hear that Heather is working. There are some critical patients she has helped me with, and I don't know how I would have gotten through it without her. She is so easy to talk to, and staff throughout the building have no problems calling her and asking her opinion or advice. She always has a smile and that personality that when you meet her, you just know she is a good person."

The Methodist Women's Hospital Employee of the Quarter award program began in the first quarter of 2013. Award nominations may be submitted by physicians, supervisors, coworkers and staff. Judging is based on how candidates embody the mission and core values of Methodist Women’s Hospital: patient focus, integrity, excellence, learning, compassion, teamwork and respect.

Employee of the Quarter award winners are automatically considered for the Caring Kind Employee of the Year award, as are Methodist Hospital's Employees of the Month.

To nominate a fellow employee for the Employee of the Quarter award, submit a completed application form to Administration. Each nomination is kept on file for review for four quarters. The "Employee of the Quarter - MWH" application form can be accessed here.
