Furthering your education? Know the Methodist benefits available to you
Published: Sept. 4, 2024Thanks to collaboration between Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) and Methodist Health System (MHS), employees seeking to further their education have more options than ever for scholarships, tuition assistance and other resources.
Benefits available include:
Corporate Partner Tuition Discount
This program offers eligible MHS employees, their legal spouses and their children 20% off tuition for certain academic degree and certificate programs at NMC. Employees/students must meet the eligibility requirements and have a form on file two weeks prior to the start of each semester to receive a discount. Learn more.
NMC Legacy Grant
If you are an NMC graduate, a sibling of a current NMC student or a spouse, sibling or dependent child of an alumnus of NMC, you could be eligible for the NMC Legacy Grant. This grant provides a one-time $2,000 award. Learn more.
Tuition Assistance Program
MHS employees can take part in the Tuition Assistance Program, which provides up to $2,000 per year at any institution and an additional $1,500 for classes taken at NMC. Learn more.
Upfront Merit Scholarships
NMC has Upfront Merit Scholarships up to $5,000 available to students in most undergraduate degree programs. Scholarship amounts are determined by the student’s cumulative GPA and entry status. Learn more.
Methodist Hospital Foundation scholarships
Methodist Hospital Foundation offers multiple scholarships, including the Foundation Graduate Scholarship, the Ruth Freed Leadership Scholarship, and Carolyn Scott “Spirit of Excellence” Scholarship. These scholarships range from $5,000 to $9,000 and are for nurses looking to advance their education with a master’s or doctoral degree. Learn more.
Nurse Faculty Loan Program
Nurses looking to get their master’s, DNP or Doctor of Education may be eligible for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program. This program cancels up to 85% of a student loan in exchange for qualified full-time employment as a nurse educator following graduation. Learn more.

MHS Academy programs provide full tuition for MHS employees enrolled in specific programs at NMC. Learn more.
