With Dr. LaCroix Sharing Family’s Powerful Story, Methodist-Sponsored March of Dimes Event Raises Nearly $250,000
Methodist Health System is proud to have been the presenting sponsor of the March of Dimes Signature Chef’s Feeding Motherhood event for the 15th consecutive year.
This year’s event, held on Oct. 21 at Embassy Suites Old Market, raised nearly $250,000 for the fight to ensure the health of all moms and babies in Nebraska and western Iowa.
Methodist Hospital executive chef Tony Soto, Methodist Women’s Hospital chef Travis Brink and their teams joined other area chefs to serve delectable samples of their best fare to the event attendees.
Dave Minderman, MD, a neonatologist in the Methodist Women’s Hospital NICU, and his wife, Maria, served as chairs of the event.
Priscilla LaCroix, DO, a Methodist Physicians Clinic pediatrician; her husband, Gary LaCroix, MD; and their daughter, Isabel, were this year’s Ambassador Family. The family shared the story of Isabel’s birth and Dr. Priscilla LaCroix’s subsequent postpartum depression and post-traumatic stress disorder in hopes of normalizing the conversation around mental health and childbirth in our community.
