John Fraser, Steve Goeser Among Becker's Top CEOs

Becker's Hospital Review has published the 2017 edition of its list of "183 Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know." Both John Fraser and Steve Goeser were named to this exclusive list.
Methodist Health System President & CEO John Fraser
John Fraser, president and chief executive officer of Methodist Health System, began his career at Methodist in 1991, when he was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Methodist Hospital. After serving six years in that role, Fraser was named president and chief executive officer (CEO) in 1997, a position he held until 2007, when he became president and CEO of Methodist Health System.
During his tenure at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Health System, Fraser led the planning and construction of Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, The Pathology Building – Schenken Pavilion, Methodist Women’s Hospital, Methodist Physicians Clinic Gretna and HealthWest, the Methodist Hospital surgery expansion/renovation project and the updating of Methodist Hospital’s clinical technology
In Fraser's time as the chief administrator, Methodist Hospital also earned numerous awards and certifications, including Magnet status, awarded by the American Nurses Association Nurses Credentialing Center. Methodist Hospital is the first hospital so designated in Nebraska.
Fraser will retire from Methodist Health System on Dec. 31, 2017.
Methodist Hospital President & CEO Steve Goeser
Steve Goeser, who has served as president and chief executive officer for Methodist Hospital since 2007, expanded his role to include Methodist Health System executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2017.
In addition to his current responsibilities for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital, Goeser has had administrative responsibility for Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Methodist Physicians Clinic, Nebraska Methodist College and Shared Service Systems. Additionally, he has overseen all departments at Methodist Health System's corporate offices.
Goeser joined Methodist Hospital in June 2004 as vice president. In that position, he was responsible for the administrative direction of the hospital’s home health program, the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center and the departments of Pastoral Services, Volunteers in Partnership (VIP), medical records, transcription, referral communications, and the hospital and state tumor registries.
Prior to joining Methodist Hospital, Goeser served as the chief executive officer of Myrtue Memorial Hospital, Shelby County Medical Corporation and the Prairie Rose Mental Health Center in Harlan, Iowa. He had previously been administrator and chief executive officer at Orange City Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic in Orange City, Iowa.
Goeser will assume the duties of president and CEO of Methodist Health System on January 1, 2018.
