John Estabrook Inducted Into Omaha Business Hall of Fame

The Greater Omaha Chamber inducted eight people into the Omaha Business Hall of Fame during an April 17 event at the Holland Performing Arts Center.

John Estabrook, former president and CEO of Methodist Health System, was among those honored. Enjoy the video which was shared at the Hall of Fame induction.

Joining Estabrook as inductees were Daniel J. Bishop, founder and chairman of the board of The Maids International; Gail L. DeBoer, president and CEO of Cobalt Credit Union; Members of the All Makes family; and Gale L. Wickersham, chairman and founder of Wick’s Truck Trailer Inc.

During his 41-year tenure, John W. Estabrook transformed Methodist Hospital from a respected 230-bed community hospital to a prominent regional multi-hospital health system.

Estabrook’s desire for health care innovation, cost-effectiveness and quality quickly positioned Methodist Hospital as a leader in the industry. He was the foundation of our Meaning of Care culture.

Mr. Estabrook passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at the age of 91.

The chamber has been honoring leaders of industry since 1993. This year’s honorees bring the total number of Business Hall of Fame inductees to 166.
