Goodbye, old intranet. New Methodist Employee Center launches Oct. 28
Published: Oct. 7, 2024A message from Paula Pittman, vice president of Human Resources, and Kent Sona, vice president and chief information officer
We all have that one drawer at home where a collection of useful but random things end up. It can get messy, disorganized and sometimes frustrating. And every so often, that feeling hits: It’s time to clean the junk drawer.
We’re excited to announce that a team from across the system has been focused on overhauling Methodist’s junk drawer – mhsintranet – and you’ll soon benefit. Beginning Oct. 28, the new Methodist Employee Center will be live and available to employees.
The Employee Center will be the new home base for Methodist employees – a one-stop shop for Human Resources (HR) information, Information Technology (IT) requests, employee news and more.
Among the Employee Center’s features:
- A robust search function with more accurate and useful results
- Easy navigation to frequently accessed information, forms and applications
- A greater emphasis on Methodist news and information, with important updates prominently displayed
- Review dates on knowledge articles so content remains current and relevant
- Cafeteria menus that are easier to access and use
When the new Employee Center launches Oct. 28, you’ll notice several other changes. The Employee Connections news site will no longer be updated, with news now being published on the Employee Center. HR, IT and Operational Innovation requests and information – formerly part of the People Portal – will be available in the Employee Center.
But there’s still work to be done – and much content to be moved to the Employee Center. As work continues, the current mhsintranet will remain available for you to access resources that have not yet been moved to the new Employee Center.
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the intranet governance committee made up of clinical experts and staff members from IT, HR and Marketing. We want to commend the committee for its work in transferring content to the new platform. This was no easy task, as content had to be evaluated, cross-checked and organized into more simplified categories.
As the committee continues its work, we believe you’ll find the Employee Center to be more and more useful and convenient. It’s a premier tool to match the level of care and service that our employees provide every day, and we’re proud to make it available to you.
