Latest PRC EasyView Security Updates Help You Manage Your Account
Published: May 19, 2017May 10 brought the latest round of security updates to PRCEasyView.com.
These updates align EasyView’s security with best security practices, following widely accepted processes to help you manage your EasyView user accounts. These updates are similar to those found on other web sites like your personal banking and employee portals.
Password Aging
EasyView® will track the age of each account’s password and require it to change every 90 days, by default. User accounts with passwords older than 90 days will not be asked to update their password until 90 days after May 10, 2017. No accounts will be affected until early in August. Of course, users may change their password at any time using the “My Account” page within PRCEasyView.com®.
When your account password does expire, the new password must conform to EasyView’s current password policy:
- Minimum of 8 characters
- At least three of the following four character classes:
- Uppercase alpha
- Lowercase alpha
- Any digit
- Special characters (e.g. punctuation and symbols like !, #, $, %, etc.)
- Must not contain the user's login name, any part of their real name, email address or the organization of the user.
- Must be different from the last 10 passwords used within EasyView®
Additionally, if you are an Administrative user, you may change your organization’s default EasyView password policy. Using this tool, you can change the password expiration requirements to any value between 7 and 365 days.
Account Aging
PRCEasyView.com® accounts that have not been used within the last 120 days will be disabled. Accounts with active Easyview-To-You subscriptions will not be disabled.
When an account is disabled, users will not be able to log in, even if they provide a correct login name and password. If a user enters the login name and password of a disabled account, the website will provide contact information for the EasyView® Administrative user who can reactivate their account. Administrative users and EasyView® Support can enable accounts quickly if they need to be reactivated.
Session Timeout
The last security update involves automatically logging users out after 15 minutes of inactivity. If you are working in PRCEasyView.com® , your account will not close automatically on you. When the website detects that you have been on the same page without making any changes to your display or exporting any data, the application will close the session. Should that happen, you will be directed back to the login screen where you provide your user name and password to resume working.
