Cord Panel

At Women’s Hospital the newborn population that are born to RH negative mothers a Cord Panel lab order is ordered automatically. The cord panel order tests for the newborns blood type and direct coombs. Through WH, MJE and FH Pediatric Section the decision was made to also include newborns born to mothers with O positive blood type to also have the Cord Panel order automatically placed. This is an automated process and is currently active.
