MWH Anesthesia Epidural Update
Published October, 2021
The Anesthesia Group at Methodist Women’s Hospital has made to decision to change the way epidural solution is administered to our laboring population. Currently patients receive a continuous epidural solution with the ability to administer patient controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) boluses when needed. Epidurals will utilize programmed intermittent epidural boluses (PIEB) and PCEA doses will still be available to the patient as well when needed. Along with the delivery method the epidural solution will be changed to a lesser local anesthetic concentration. If you have any questions please reach out to Dr. Mark D’Agostino.
